See how we helped our client get back in business after flood waters inundated their yard and surrounding suburbs

  • $580,000 over 13 trucks & vehicles were destroyed
  • $157,500 in customer goods were destroyed (45 customers affected)

How we managed this claim for our client:

  • We co-ordinated all 15 claims with insurers and the client
  • An assessor was appointed and attended the insured’s premises along with our Claims Specialist within 4 days of the initial call (after we had waited for the flood-water to recede)
  • Our Managing Director worked with all 45 Suppliers, arranging;
  • co-ordination of all 45 suppliers on behalf of the client
  • for proof of loss documentation
  • ongoing and regular updates to all those with losses
  • Mobilisation of our in-house legal counsel to draft and issue deeds of release for each claim
  • We liaised with insurers and claimants to ensure all payments were made to the suppliers in a timely manner

The claim also event highlighted a lack of formal contracting relationships between our client and their customers. We have since been working with the client to implement a supplier insurance register and internal policies & procedures to ensure all customers hold appropriate and current transit insurance policies.

Our In-House Legal Counsel has assisted the client in reviewing draft and supply and storage contracts to ensure risk is appropriately distributed and insurance policies remain effective
